Back to Base Monitoring

Your residential and commercial alarm systems can be connected to our back-to-base monitoring station which is manned 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. The monitoring stations that Eveready Alarms & Security Services use are all graded “Level 1“. Eveready Alarms & Security Services are able to provide our customers with GSM or the Permaconn dual path IP and GPRS communicator monitoring option.

Back-to-base monitoring is the key reporting link in electronic security. If your alarm system can sense it, then it can be detected, and if it can be detected then it can be reported.

When a detection device is triggered, the control panel receives a signal notifying it of the breach in the systems “armed” conditions. The control panel then sends a signal to the monitoring station.

Eveready customers are able to utilise long-standing relationships with selected and recognised monitoring companies who are customer focused and ethically like-minded to provide the highest level of alarm monitoring services.

We are able to provide our customers with a choice of GSM, or Permaconn dual path IP and GPRS communicator monitoring options.

When the alarm is turned on, any alarm activations that occur at your premises would transmit through to the back-to-base monitoring station. When the alarm is triggered, the monitoring station would receive a coded message advising them of the situation that is occurring at your premises. Simultaneously, the siren would sound for the permitted 5 minutes and then shut itself down. Your alarm system’s information and data will be displayed on the monitoring station’s computer showing specific instructions for the base operator to react to immediately and carry out. For example:

  • Contact you on home or mobile phone
  • Contact member of staff/family member
  • Dispatch security patrolman (optional charge applicable)
  • Contact Police

The response action by the monitoring station is always in context with your original instructions, however, if for any reason, specific instructions cannot be executed, the base station operator will immediately dispatch either a patrol or police as a default response (depending on what is appropriate based on the information).

The GSM (the acronym for the network called Global System for Mobile Communications) monitoring option is the second generation of digital technology used for mobile phone communication but with the added capacity to send data services.

The cellular GSM constantly monitors the telephone line and automatically switches to the GSM interface should a line malfunction occur.

It is an alternative backup to Dialler Monitoring and provides better availability.

However, thanks to today’s technology there is now an even more highly secure monitored security communications alternative to the simple GSM.

The alternative option is using an accredited communicator by Permaconn. The Permaconn features a dual path IP (Internet Protocol) and GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) high-security communicator with an automatic PSTN (Public Switch Telephone Network) fallback. The IP and the GPRS are independently polled, resulting in a more reliable and self-reliant dual monitoring network.

The Permaconn network communicates within ‘Virtual Private Networks’ (VPN) provided by both Telstra and Optus and is dedicated to Permaconn alarm data only; ensuring that all data transmitted and received is secure. Additionally, all messages are encrypted ‘end to end’, using the international Advanced Encryption Standard (AES128).

Network availability is guaranteed at 99.9% as the dual SIM Permaconn devices communicate and switch seamlessly between both Telco networks and with the clients’ ISP, there are three independent communication paths from the protected premises to the Central Station.

Therefore, your back-to-base monitoring provides a continuous record of the conditions within your home or business. Any changes in conditions are immediately transmitted to the back-to-base monitoring station and the appropriate response is instigated. It is only a matter of seconds from the activation of the alarm to the back-to-base station responding to intruder/burglar alarms, personal attack and duress alarms, power failures and electrical faults or equipment breakdowns and a range of emergency situations from fire to flooding. Remember the monitoring station is manned 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Finally, as an added service for our commercial customers, we can produce Activity Reports on a regular basis. These reports, taken from alarm data, will document all the alarm systems’ activities. Reports cover the opening and closing of the business’s premises, alarm activations, and user code access activity.

Therefore by ensuring that your domestic or commercial alarm system is monitored, you can rest assured that your property and family are safe and protected 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year. So as you leave your home to go to work or alternatively leave your business to go home, rest assured that your home or business is being watched over by Eveready Alarms & Security Services.
